Is everyone an author? Yes, I believe
everyone has shown through their lifetime ways that they have been authors. Every
day we do things which makes us authors, whether its share a paper with a
class, write an email to a group of friends, or post on Facebook a story of an
event you experienced. From the moment
you were a child and had learned to write sentences, you had begun your journey
into a world of publishing. In our present society we have at our finger tips
the internet, which holds opportunities that no one in the past has ever been
given. We have Twitter, Facebook, blogs like this one here, and emails that lets
us express our thoughts through writing and then lets us publish our work so
that the world can see.
Before the internet, the difference between an author and a writer
was large. A writer was anyone who put their words on paper, but an author was
someone recognized, whose work had been published. Today we can publish
anything we wish to and the difference between an author and writer has little
distinction. With all the opportunities we have today, let us embrace them
and write to the world!
