My definition of the
word rhetoric would be a method of being able to speak and write in a way that
is well thought out, grounded, and studied. Being able to think and act
rhetorically is a great asset to those who can obtain it. It requires listening
and being open to different viewpoints. Taking the time to consider and take
note of other people’s opinions could help you understand where you stand on certain
subjects. Thinking and acting rhetorically also entails creating and
researching your own stance. Before you announce your opinion it is wise to be knowledgeable
of it and have proof so you can support it if it comes into debate. Also, acknowledging
the work of others is another step into thinking and acting rhetorically. To
give credit to people who have influenced you in your opinions is a great step in
building character.
Thinking and acting
rhetorically is one of the most important things when presenting yourself or a project
whether it be a paper or a presentation to a body of individuals. Using this
method has many benefits including gaining respect in the work place, creating
good products, and being able to stand up for what you believe.

ReplyDeleteLeah, I really liked how you expressed the importance of acting and thinking rhetorically, and used an example of a real life situation to help us understand how thinking or acting rhetorically can help us out in life. You did a great job, as always. :)
ReplyDeleteLeah, I loved how you mentioned giving credit to others. I completely left that part out so good job! You have great voice in your writing, even in a definition reflection!
